Family Student Housing Eligibility Requirements
Students must reside with at least one eligible family member on a permanent, full-time basis. Eligible family members include:
- Spouse or mutually-dependant, committed relationship with an adult partner
- A mutually-dependant relationship with a family member such as a parent, sister, brother, cousin, aunt, uncle or grandparent.
- Children (the main contract holder has physical custody at least 50% of time)
Family Student Housing applicants must:
- Be a registered student at UCSC, or
- Have a processed UCSC application for academic admission, or
- Be on an official Leave of Absence from UCSC
In order to maintain an active status on the Family Student Housing wait list, applicants must:
- Respond to wait list update requests
- Report changes in contact information to our office at (831) 459-4080 or by email (i.e. students we are unable to contact regarding an available apartment will be removed from the wait list)
Once living at Family Student Housing, contract holder (UCSC student) must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 credits during fall, winter and spring quarters, exceptions are made for Summer Session. Concurrent enrollment does not meet eligibility requirements.
